Assessment of Carbon Fiber Electrical Effects.

Abstract

Carbon fibers used in structural composites are light weight and electrically conductive. When carbon fiber composites are burned, such as may occur in an aircraft crash fire, the lightweight conductive carbon fibers may be released from the composite and become airborne.
