Standard Tests for Toughened Resin Composites.

Abstract

The commercial transport manufacturers are under contract with NASA to develop long-lead-time technology for application of advanced composites to primary aircraft structures. Since several toughened resin systems are being evaluated in these contracts, NASA conducted a workshop in December 1981 to achieve commonality among the manufacturers for certain kinds of tests used to characterize toughened resin composites. Out of this workshop, specifications for five tests were standardized; these test standards are described in this reference publication. (MM)
