Debris Control at Hydraulic Structures in Selected Areas of the USA.

Abstract

This second interim report documents field visits and interviews that have been carried out, in Eastern, Central and south Central USA, by Prof S. R. Abt of Colorado State University to determine some of the alternative means and methods that are employed for the management of debris and drift in navigable waterways. The general findings of this report, and those of the European research effort which have been submitted as the first interim report, will be combined to produce a final document that outlines a set of best-practice guidelines for floating debris management at run-of-river hydraulic structures.
