Reflectors for High-Powered CO2 Lasers,

Abstract

The method of designing, measuring, and preparatory and cooling techniques, used for high-powered CO2 reflectors, have been discussed. The influence of the various substrate materials on the reflector has been compared. The results of applications demonstrated that reflectance of the reflector is higher, the higher the coating film hardness, and thermal deformation is smaller than for reflectors whose substrate is copper and that are gold-film coated. In addition, dirt on this kind of reflector can be cleaned with an organic solvent.
