Viscoelasticity of Polymers,

Abstract

A review of the state of the art of viscoelasticity from the applied mechanics standpoint is presented. Both linear and nonlinear viscoelasticity is discussed with reference to both the theoretical and experimental aspects. A simple design problem is used as an example and extensions of the problem are discussed. The experimental approach of the Combined Stress Viscoelastic Project at Lawrence Radiation Laboratory is presented.
