Amphibious Reconnaissance.

Abstract

This provides information concerning the relationships between reconnaissance units, the conduct of an amphibious reconnaissance, and the tactics and techniques employed by amphibious reconnaissance patrols. Also included is guidance for the training of reconnaissance units. It is made available to other Services for information and use as desired. This manual describes the techniques of collecting information of intelligence interest to the landing force concerning landing beaches and coastal and inland areas by amphibious reconnaissance. It covers the mission, organization, capabilities, and employment of the various amphibious reconnaissance units.
