Plastic Pallet Produced by Alket Industries, MIL-STD-1660 Tests.

Abstract

The U.S. Army Defense Ammunition Center and School (USADACS), Validation Engineering Division (SIOAC-DEV), was tasked by the U.S. Army Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center (ARDEC), AMSTA-AR-ESK, to conduct MIL-STD-166O tests on a plastic pallet made with blended recycled high-density polyethylene produced by Alket Industries (formerly Aldan Lane Company). The pallet initially failed to meet MIL-STD-1660, Design Criteria for Ammunition Unit Loads, requirements; however, after several pallet modifications, the polyethylene pallet loaded with simulated 1O5mm boxed ammunition met MIL-STD-1660 requirements. This report contains the test results.
