Nonlinear Ocean Waves.

Abstract

The proposed work for the grant was divided into several parts: shallow water, deep water and the qualitative behavior of solutions of nonlinear equations. The overall objective of the research in shallow water is to develop an accurate model of wave propagation in shallow water. The model we have developed is based on the Kadomtsev-Petviachvili equation which can derived as an asymptotic limit of Stokes' equations of water waves.
