Effectiveness of Variable Ventilation on Indoor Air Quality.
Abstract
Ventilation is a method of maintaining good Indoor Air Quality (IAQ). Demand controlled ventilation is a new control strategy that potentially improves IAQ while minimizing energy costs. However, there are several unanswered questions concerning the application of DCV. For example, how well do current CO(2) sensors perform? Under what conditions is DCV cost beneficial? Where is the sensor placement location that results in the highest IAQ. These questions were answered as part of this research program.
