Record of Decision for the Santa Margarita River Flood Control Project and Basilone Road Bridge Replacement Project at Marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton, California

Abstract

Purauant to Section 102(c) of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) of 1969, and the Council on Environmental Quality Regulations (40 CFR 1500-1508), the Department of the Navy announces its decision to construct a 14,500 foot-long levee and a 2,3OO foot floodwall combination and associated stormwater management system and a replacement Basilone Road Bridge at Marine Corps Base (MCB) Camp Pendleton, California. The Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for these projects was prepared jointly by the Department of the Navy and Army Corps of Engineers. In addition, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the San Diego Regional Water Quality Control Board served as cooperating agencies during the analysis of potential impacts to the environment that may occur during construction, operation and maintenance of these projects.
