Non-Toxic, Self Cleaning Silicone Foul Release Coatings

Abstract

Additional screening panels have been deployed at FIT. Concepts currently under evaluation include: The effect of oil incorporation into non-silicone coatings with poor foul release characteristics; The effect of loading level of the oil on foul release properties; The effect of molecular weight and water solubility of the oil on foul release properties. About 58 panels are deployed at MMRTS and include two panels each of the downselected compositions. Data collection continues on the first and second downselect panels at FIT, Bridger Scientific, University of Hawaii and SUNY Buffalo.
