Modeling of Membrane Waves

Abstract

This report covers the modeling of shell membrane waves. Detailed theoretical background is provided to serve as a primer on the subject and to set the context. Comparisons are made of the predicted response with "exact" numerical solutions as well as with experimental data. Qualitative agreement is excellent. Quantitative agreement is good, given the uncertainties involved and sensitivity to boundary conditions.
