Real -Time/Predictive Medical Data Fusion Watchboard.

Abstract

This report outlines the development of a Real-time/Predictive Medical Data Fusion Watchboard (referred to as "NavMedWatch") to enhance the current Navy medical care system and improve medical readiness. The proposed NavMedWatch provides streamlined data to Navy medical care providers, support personnel and remote command staff allowing for the rapid visualization and assessment of the tactical medical situation. NavMedWatch includes a simulation capability for predicting resource shortfalls, intelligent agents for shortfall resolution, and record/playback capability for training activities and after-action reviews. A NavMedWatch prototype was developed to continue work performed in Phase I and to simulate the interface required for TMIP data access. NavMedWatch provides a common data collection and dissemination point for medical personnel at the MTF and JTF levels and has been enthusiastically received by a representative group of potential users.
