Non-Chromium Conversion Coatings on Aluminum

Abstract

This report results from a contracted tasking Technion - Israel Institute of Science and Technology as follows: The contractor will investigate non-chromium conversion coatings on aluminum. Conversion coatings are an important corrosion protector and allow for better adhesion of paint and other coatings. Finding an environmentally sound replacement to current conversion coatings is a high priority USAF goal.
