Sandwich Construction For Aircraft. Part I: Fabrication, Inspection, Durability and Repair

Abstract

This Part I of ANC-23 Bulletin has been prepared for information in connection with the fabrication, inspection, durability, and repair of sandwich assemblies for both military and commercial aircraft. Part II consists of design criteria for sandwich construction. The technical material in this bulletin is based principally on data obtained in tests conducted at the U. S. Forest Products Laboratory, supplemented by that obtained in a survey of current sandwich design and fabrication methods in United States aircraft plants.
