Dynamics and Control of Instabilities and Mixing in Complex Fluid Flows; Applications to Jet Engines

Abstract

The objectives of research sponsored by the AFOSR grant F49620-98-1-0l46 were: 1.)To develop new control theory and dynamical systems tools for the problems of active control of fluid flow instabilities and control of mixing and 2.)To apply the developed theoretical tools to problems of active control of instabilities of compression systems of jet engines and control of mixing in combustion chambers of jet engines.
