Investigation of Characteristics of High-Power Wide-Band Plasma-Filled Traveling Wave Tubes (TWT)

Abstract

This report results from a contract tasking The Russian Federation State Research Center - All Russian Electrotechnical Institute as follows: A non-relativistic beam-plasma microwave amplifier (Plasma-Filled TrVT) based on a hybrid coupled-cavity slow-wave structure (CCSWS) with a plasma-filled transit channel has been developed in VEI. Needed improvements of these microwave tubes for their commercial and industrial applications in communication systems and microwave technology require special investigations of the main features of these tubes including noise and spectral purity parameters, and hybrid slow-wave structure electrodynamics.
