Fundamentals of Fretting Applied to Anisotropic Materials. High-Temperature Fretting Fatigue of Single-Crystal Nickel

Abstract

The objective of this program was to determine the fatigue crack growth portion of the dissimilar fretting fatigue tests in order to improve the accuracy of the equivalent stress method used to predict the fretting fatigue lives for the single crystal nickel on INl00 attachment fatigue tests. These analyses will give further confidence in the ability to determine endurance limits for attachment fatigue issues associated with these advanced materials.
