Trials Lessons Learned: DRDC Ottawa Propagation Measurements and Support for DLCSPM Trials 9-10 January 06

Abstract

This report presents a brief summary of lessons learned from experimental field trials conducted by Defense Research and Development Agency-Ottawa (DRDC Ottawa) from September 2005 to January 2006. The purpose of this report is to provide a record of trials-related issues and related procedural solutions which were found to work well, in order to advise the planning of similar future trials. Thirteen separate items of advice are presented to improve confidence of success and efficiency, including inexpensive protection of test equipment from extreme cold, the use of visual signaling methods when radio communication is not possible, and the use of generators to provide electrical power at remote locations.
