Design and Evaluation of an Electromechanical Actuator for Projectile Guidance

Abstract

An ongoing Army requirement is for actuators for guided munitions. This report describes an electromechanical actuator concept using a tubular solenoid. Preliminary test results reveal the capabilities and limitations of the actuator concept.
