This Coastal and Hydraulics Engineering Technical Note (CHETN) describes procedures to set up a particle tracking simulation through coupling the Coastal Modeling System (CMS) and Particle Tracking Model (PTM) in the Surface-water Modeling System (SMS). The step-by-step CMS-PTM setup is illustrated by a coastal application at Noyo, CA.
