Understanding the Potential Role of Circulating Tumor Cells in Prostate Cancer Metastasis

Abstract

Major work performed during the period of performance included (1) development of a novel hydrogel system to enable the capture and release of specific cells from whole blood in microfluidic devices, as well as (2) the design of a new microfluidic cell isolation system that enables the antigen-dependent and antigen-independent isolation of circulating tumor cells from whole blood.
