Frequency Diverse Array Component Characterization: An Evaluation of Low-Cost RF Components for Testing Frequency Diverse Array Antennas Used in Secure Communication Investigations

Abstract

This Technical Report describes some of the transmit instrumentation, that was assembled using relatively inexpensive commercial-off-the-shelf (COT) components, for use in investigating the performance of frequency diverse array (FDA) antennas for secure communications. Brief descriptions of the bench-level set-ups used for characterizing the transmit waveform generation instrumentation are provided. Test results are included to give some indication of expected level of performance.
