Environmental Assessment: Proposed Construction of Officer Training School (OTS) Parade Field

Abstract

The purpose of the proposed action is to construct a Officer Training School Parade Field to correct various inadequacies with the existing temporary parade field. In September 1993, the Officer Training School was relocated to Maxwell Air Force Base. Since that time, the number of classes and spectators has steadily increased. No permanent facilities for graduation ceremonies and parade activities exist at Maxwell. The no action alternative is continued use of the existing temporary parade field. Resources considered were air quality, noise, land use, geological resources, water resources, biological resources, transportation and circulation, cultural resources socioeconomics, environmental justice and protection of children, hazardous materials and wastes, and utilities. No significant impacts would result from the proposed action.
