Environmental Assessment for the Construction of a New Dormitory St Clair County Scott Air Force Base, Illinois

Abstract

Pursuant to the President's CEQ regulations. {Title 40 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Parts 1500-1508}, the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 {42 USC 4321. et seq.}. Air Force Instruction (AFI) 32-7061, and the Environmental Impact Analysis Process. as promulgated at 32 CFR Part 989, the U.S. Air Force conducted an Environmental Assessment (EA) of the potential consequences associated with the construction of a new dormitory at Scott AFB, IL. The EA considered all potential natural resources, environmental. and cultural impacts of the construction and demolition project (hereinafter. "'Proposed Action''), both as solitary actions and in conjunction with other proposed activities. This Finding of No Significant impact (FONSl) summarizes the results of this EA and provides the U.S. Air Force's rationale for the Proposed Action and No-Action Alternative.
