Airfoil-Counter Modifications Based on epsilon-Curve Method of Calculating Pressure Distribution

Abstract

Description of method for removing excessive irregularities or local peaks in pressure distributions. Certain parameters of airfoil such as angle of zero lift, ideal lift coefficient, or moment coefficient may be kept unchanged. Altered distribution cannot be prescribed because a Laplacian flow field must be maintained, and a prescribed distribution cannot be obtained iteration. Process is one of qualitative modification. Several numerical examples illustrating use of method are appended.
