Tests of Flat Panels with Four Types of Stiffeners

Abstract

Specimens were flat-end columns of different lengths. C-, U-, S-, and Z-stiffeners were used in duplicate pairs. The test data include the maximum loads carried, action of the panels after the maximum load had been passed, amount of twisting of the stiffeners, and photographs showing the character of failure of many of the panels.
