Counter Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS)

Abstract

The Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-UAS) effort is in response to Joint Urgent Operational Need (JUON) CC-0558 to support identification, development, testing, evaluation, and integration of technologies to provide an overall evolutionary capability to defeat small UAS threats at 89 U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM) sites. The C-UAS effort provides warfighters the ability to comprehensively detect, track, identify, and defeat enemy Groups 1 and 2 lightweight, low altitude, commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) UAS platforms with kinetic/non-kinetic means. FY 2021 Base dollars in the amount of $18.732 million will support detection capability enhancements using a common command and control. FY 2021 OCO dollars in the amount of $27.000 million support technological development to keep pace with evolving threats.
