Identify and optimize lead drug compounds to identify candidates for human studies. Test lead drug candidates for safety and toxicity in animals. Down-select lead candidates as a malaria drug for use in humans. Optimize antigens and platforms for use in animal studies. Evaluate new vaccine candidates for safety, effectiveness, and immunogenicity in animal models to advance to human clinical trials.
